USATF Southern California 2018 Road Mile championship at Spirit Run
USATF Southern California (So Cal USATF) has selected Spirit Run to host its 2018 Road Mile Championship.
Spirit Run's fast, point to point course offers elite, highly competitive, and casual runners the chance to test their speed at the mile. Markers will be posted at the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 mile along with a person shouting the time.
- The Elite Mile is for men and women who run faster than 4:15 and 4:50 minutes, respectively. Field will be limited to 15 men and 15 women.
- The Open Mile is for age 13 & older who don't meet the elite standards. Those who can run a mile faster than 7:00 minutes start in front.
- The Youth Mile includes three separate Youth Mile races for age 11-12, 9-10, and 7-8.
Spirit Run will award the top three male and female adults in the Elite and Open Mile massage certificates as well as a cash purse in the Elite Mile. Spirit Run will award Blaze Pizza for a year to youth winners in the Open Mile. Visit Awards Page for details.

Spirit Run Selected for Sixth year for inclusion in Grand prix series.
For the sixth consecutive year, So Cal USATF has selected Spirit Run as one several road racing events from Inyo, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, and Santa Barbara counties to be included in its Grand Prix Road Running Championship Series.
The Grand Prix Series offers opportunities for adult and youth So Cal USATF members to compete in some of the best road races and fastest courses in So Cal USATF's region. Members compete in series road races for points and series winners are eligible to win medals and cash prizes.
